Collection: Mana Wahine
Mana Wahine can have many meanings and this collection aligns with our thinking of Te Mana o te Wahine – The Power of Women.
A collaborative creation between two Māori wahine as a tribute to all beautiful women, with the intention to inspire and empower them.
The artwork provided by Kupu Tee depicts a Moko Kauae (traditional Māori tattoo on the chin) of a wahine as a sign of prestige and status. The imagery is not of a whole face to allow those that wear and see the clothing the opportunity to complete the rest of the imagery. Wahine may see themselves in the artwork or see another powerful woman such as their mentor, role model, grandmother, mother or daughter. The design allows for women to let their imagination wonder and complete the artwork so that it may inspire and empower them.
